Mr. Hontiveros served as a Producer in CNET's New Market Development department from the summer of 2000 through the winter of 2001, assisting to design, populate, and launch the online toy category for mySimon.com. In the summer of 1999, he completed a marketing internship with On24, Inc. His responsibilities included guerrilla marketing On24 to the Online Investor community, conducting market research, and creating an extensive database to be used for strategic alliances and business-to-business correspondence. Mr. Hontiveros served as an Independent Sales Contractor for the Southwestern Company in the summer of 1998, running a sole proprietorship selling educational reference products door-to-door 80-hours-per-week. Throughout the course of the summer, he listened to and spoke with over 4,000 families in their own homes in Seattle, WA, generated all sales, distributed all products, and performed all accounting and business functions. Mr. Hontiveros also possesses experience in the development and deployment of e-business solutions, and has provided services to clients such as CNET Networks, GetTheWorm.com, the McIntire School of Commerce, Aereal Internet, and StarMine. Languages known include SQL, PHP, HTML, C/C++, Basic, Pascal, and LISP. He also created and maintains hontiveros.com. In May 2001, Mr. Hontiveros received a Bachelor of Science from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia, completing concentrations in both Marketing and Management, as well as a major in Psychology. He received numerous honors and awards during his undergraduate career, which include the Joseph Daniel Scholarship, the Elizabeth White Barr Scholarship, Dean's List, Intermediate Honors, and being inducted into the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, Psi Chi - The National Honor Society in Psychology, the Golden Key International Honor Society, the National Honor Society, and Mu Alpha Theta - The National Mathematics Honor Society. He was also offered the Andrew Carnegie Scholarship by Carnegie Mellon University. Mr. Hontiveros also participated in numerous extracurricular activities: he conducted research on Global Management with Dr. Martha Maznevski, assisted teaching the Advanced Volleyball class at UVa, served as the Academics and Sports Photo Editor for Corks & Curls, the Yearbook at the University of Virginia, and served as starting Outside Hitter/Setter for the Men's All-University Championship volleyball team. Most recently, Mr. Hontiveros became six-time League and Tournament Champion of Charlottesville's Division A Men's Volleyball League.
